The Cybils Blog The Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers’ Literary Awards allow the public to nominate their favorite children’s books in seven categories. Committees of bloggers select the winners from there.
YALSA Blog This blog has many categories for discussion for librarians serving young adults, including blogs, gaming, technology, professional development, and YALSA info.

Teen Read Week YA librarians across the country share their ideas and experiences for Teen Read Week (the third week of October), from planning to promoting to programming.

ALSC Listservs ALSC hosts several discussion forums:

The ALSC-L listserv keeps subscribers informed of ALSC activities and issues.

ALSCSTORY is for those who want a place to discuss issues and concerns in storytelling, as well as keep in touch with a storytelling support group.

PRESCHSVCS (Preschool Services Discussion Group)
provides an online forum on topics related to preschool services, programs, or materials related to children from ages infant through the preschool years, and the adults who serve them.

Child_Lit This discussion forum covers all aspects of children’s literature, with contributions from authors, teachers, librarians, students, and people who just love children’s literature. To subscribe, send an email to child_lit@mailman.rutgers.edu, with ‘Subscribe Child_lit’ in the subject line.

PUBYAC PUBYAC (PUBlic libraries, Young Adults, and Children) is an Internet discussion list concerned with the practical aspects of Children and Young Adult Services in Public Libraries, focusing on programming ideas, outreach and literacy programs, censorship and policy issues, collection development, job openings, professional development and other pertinent services and issues.
YALSA Listservs YALSA sponsors several useful listservs:

Ya_yaac is the most general list, covering a wide range of topics such as programming, teen advisory groups, professional development, and just about everything else! It’s also useful for networking, exchanging ideas, discussing common challenges and solutions, and more.

TEACH-YAL is for those teaching children’s and young adult literature; library school students, teachers, librarians, and others can discuss theory and practice and exchange ideas, syllabi, and information.

YALSA-BK invites subscribers to discuss specific titles, as well as other issues concerning young adult reading and young adult literature. Subscribers will also learn what has been nominated for several YA book awards and be able to discuss those books. Young adults, especially those who belong to book discussion groups, are also welcome to subscribe and to discuss books they are reading.

YA-MUSIC, started by YALSA’s Teen Music Interest Group, discusses and develops recommended practices in collections, programming, and related topics in the field of music and media, including CDs, MP3s, and emerging technologies, and services in music media for teens.

YA-URBAN is designed for staff members in large urban public library systems who serve young adults. Subscribers can use this list to network, exchange ideas, discuss common problems and seek solutions in an effort to improve service to young adults in urban library systems.
