Visit to Belen Public Library

Last week, Carmelita Aragon, Patricia Moore and I visited the Belen Public Library. The library is quite large and very bright and airy. In their entry way they have a great space which allows for book displays and they just installed new, individual computer stations for patron privacy. Their meeting room was set up for a meeting and it was amazing to see the space and how many people it can hold comfortably.

Their kids room was getting ready for storytime and was such a friendly, happy place to be that I’m not surprised there were people there well before storytime.

Their teen room was AMAZING! It wasn’t open during the time we were there (late morning while kids were in school). The teen room is completely separate but incredibly welcoming. They have a white board the kids can request movies for their next movie night, comfy bean bag chairs, their own computer stations and magnetic poetry on the emergency exit door! The library sells snacks after school and has board games available for teens as well.

I really liked all the book displays and LOVED the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe book ends they have holding up that series of books.

If you’re ever in Valencia County, make sure to drop by the Belen Public Library and their branch found in the Harvey House Museum!
