Tribal Librarians turned out for a workshop on October 9th at New Mexico State Library with Alison Freese.
Ms. Freese received a warm welcome on her return to New Mexico. She had been the first successful Coordinator of the Tribal Libraries Program at NMSL from 1997 to 2003. She left to take a position with Institute for Museum and Library Service overseeing the Native American/Native Hawaiian grant programs for over 10 years. Most Tribal Librarians had worked with Alison during the 20 years she has been involved with their programs both in New Mexico and Washington, DC.
The day long workshop covered how to write successful IMLS Basic and Enhancement Grants for Tribal Libraries.
