The mid-December night sky will be filled with the light of two planets, Saturn and Jupiter, passing very close to one another. It has been 400 years since they have been this close and 800 years since the event was visible at night. Keep your eyes on the southwestern sky over the next few weeks to watch the event unfold.
“From our vantage point, we’ll be able to be to see Jupiter on the inside lane, approaching Saturn all month and finally overtaking it on December 21.”
