There are exciting things happening in our New Mexico public libraries for Summer Reading! I have been loving getting into our libraries to meet youth services staff, enjoy summer programming, and marvel at the amazing décor. Carmelita Aragon and I visited the Town of Bernalillo Public Library and the Corrales Community Library for Oceans of Possibilities themed SRP programs – sea animal painting in Bernalillo and Paint your Own Pirate Flag in Corrales.

I was also able to join an Ocean Fossil program at the Santa Fe Public Library presented by the New Mexico Bureau of Land Management and a special printing press program at Vista Grande Library for their Summer Library Club. At all locations I saw engaged patrons, imaginative displays and decorations, and excitement for being in the library. Our youth services staff are proving that there are oceans-of possible ways to engage their communities this summer!
