The New Mexico Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped received some help recording The Gum Chewing Rattler by Joe Hayes from one of our young patrons on July 21st, as part of our Summer Reading Program. Deedee Jansen has been a LBPH patron for several years now and has participated in the Summer Reading Program in past years. This year, we decided to invite her in to learn about how audio books are made!
Deedee spent time in the studio with two of our local recording program volunteers, Kitty Smith and Patricia Jonietz. She learned first-hand how a book gets recorded and then edited as a digital file. She also got to meet the rest of the LBPH staff and see our awesome book carousel stack system in action.
Thanks to everyone involved for a fun afternoon!
