On Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Star Wars is taking over Rio Rancho’s Loma Colorado Main Library. This free all-ages event – with origins in a galaxy far, far away – has something for everyone to enjoy!
Those attending the event will be able to:
-View a giant display of Star Wars Legos
-Have their picture taken with members of the local 501st and Rebel legions
-Enjoy drinks and cookies at the Cantina and make your own Wookie Cookie
-Make Droids at the Star Wars Droid Factory
-Create Star Wars-themed crafts such as pencil light sabers and buttons
-Participate in Stormtrooper Training Camp
-Participate in the hourly raffle to win Star Wars themed prizes throughout the event
-Adults can create a Star Wars mug

Star Wars Fest 4 is coordinated and organized by the city of Rio Rancho’s Library and Information Services Division with funding support provided by the Friends of the Library of Rio Rancho, Inc. Last year’s Star Wars Fest at the Loma Colorado Main Library attracted more than 1,000 attendees.
The 501st and Rebel legions are all-volunteer organizations that seek to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes and by supporting their local communities through costumed charity and volunteer work.
