As part of the Public Services Bureau, this librarian manager position is responsible for the reference services provided by the New Mexico State Library, which include circulation, resource sharing, the Southwest Room, the Foundation Center collection, the library science collection, the serials collection, the reference collection and the databases. This position coordinates the staff of the Public Service Bureau to provide excellent reference and research assistance to the public, state agencies, and other libraries. The person in the position must demonstrate initiative and a strong customer service commitment. The incumbent will provide leadership for and coordination of all aspects of reference services; conducts complex research in order to respond to information requests and promotes public service collections. The manager is accountable for the success of the reference services and is responsible for the budgetary resources earmarked for the development and maintenance of the collections.
