April 8-14, 2018 was National Library Week and libraries all over the state celebrated in their own, unique ways.
In Eunice, they gave away a book in a drawing, played “guess the number of jellybeans” and asked patrons to guess how many catalogued items they have in the library. 
In Las Cruces at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, they set up a photo-op for patrons to take fun pictures and a place for the patrons to share what they love about the library.
At the Lordsburg Hidalgo Library they got out their Snap Circuits and let the kids create robots. Two of the kids teamed up and created a bug robot that the library then included in a presentation to their county commission on fun, innovative programs the library has been hosting.
At the Espanola Public Library they held Snapshot Day, an all ages craft “God’s Eye,” a book signing with Marcie Martinez, decoupaged clay pots, and had a donor dinner for community members who have helped with Summer Reading and other event throughout the year.
At the Estanacia Public Library, anyone who has completed 1st grade can get a library card so they offered free book to any child who came in with their parents to sign up for a library card.
At the Oliver La Farge branch of the Santa Fe Public Library they celebrated by having a special drawing. Patrons filled out an entry to share with them where the library has led them.
