Librarians Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

The New Mexico Library Association is forming a team of librarians to walk this year in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Albuquerque on Saturday, October 24, 2015.  To join the team, click on this link:

The librarian team will meet near Cottonwstrides-logoood Mall at 8 am the day of the walk and will begin walking at 8:30.  It is a 5 mile walk (for those of you who may have walked in 2014 – the walk is returning to the old – and great – 2013 route).

Thousands of people participate in this walk.  NMLA invites librarians, library staff, family, and friends to join the team and participate in this important event.

This event is a great way to support friends, family, and coworkers who have life experiences with cancer –a nd bring awareness to cancer research.  And by joining NMLA’s group, there is an added bonus — it is an uplifting event and a great way to meet librarians from around the state.
