SALARY: $15.28 – $26.59 Hourly

The purpose of this position is to serve as the Photo Archivist and Collections Manager for the History Museum and Palace of the Governor’s. Position is responsible for the planning and implementation of archival and online collections digitization work flow, cataloging of digitized images utilizing Dublin Core Metadata software and establishes best practices to be followed. Ensures that public access is available via website throughout the state, nation and internationally through a variety of databases. Is responsible as the Collections Manager for the photo archives to include: space and supply management, development and implementation of detailed scope and content description of the archival photograph collections to navigate the collections at the inventory level, and evaluates needed preservation of visual material to rehouse the collections and makes recommendations to the Photo Curator. Collaborates with Photo Curator to determine the conservation needs of both in-coming and existing collections, impose and apply standard labeling and inventory control via databases. Is also responsible for the operation and management of the reading room to ensure it is available to the public as well as to researchers. This position also operates the Rights and Reproduction Services that generates revenue for the museum.This position is a Pay Band 65.
Bachelor’s Degree in Archival Administration and Public History, History, Archaeology, Anthropology or Library Sciences and two (2) years work experience in archiving and/or record keeping. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.Employment Requirements:
