The New Mexico State Legislature is currently in session, and a House Memorial has been introduced to support the future needs of libraries.
House Memorial 48 was introduced by Representative Deborah Armstrong requesting the State Library support a needs assessment of New Mexico libraries and to support and assist with a statewide conference to identify policies and goals for improved library services. The House Education Committee gave the Memorial a unanimous do pass, with members of the committee all supportive of libraries and good discussion. These continued steps are highlighting the important role of libraries in a new age.
