Grants Public Library to Take Part in National Internship Initiative

It was announced on April 9, 2018 that the Grants Public Library was selected to participate in the Public Library Association’s (PLA) Inclusive Internship Initiative. This program proved to be highly successful during its pilot last summer. As a result, with support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the PLA was able to offer this program again this summer.

One upcoming Grants High School junior or senior, or first-year college student, will be selected through an application process to complete the internship program, while working closely with the library’s director, Ron Gonzales. In addition, the recipient will receive $3,500, a trip in June with Gonzales to a program kickoff event in Washington, D.C., with a program wrap-up trip to Chicago in September.

This is an exciting opportunity and congratulations to the Grants Public Library for being selected to participate in this successful program!
