The New Mexico State Library, in partnership with local public libraries in New Mexico and the museums and historic sites of the Department of Cultural Affairs, offers the New Mexico FamilyPass to library card holders throughout the state. Library card holders across New Mexico can check out a pass from their local public library and receive free admission for up to 6 people at Department of Cultural Affairs museums and historic sites. All public libraries recently received updated passes that reflect new additions to DCA sites.
Since its introduction as a pilot program in 2015, the New Mexico FamilyPass program has proven to be very popular – with public libraries reporting over 3,200 circulations in the 2022-2023 fiscal year. The program is a perfect fit for public libraries as it furthers their mission of providing equitable access to recourses for their communities. The holiday season is a great time to get out and enjoy New Mexico museums and historic sites – ask your local public library how to access the FamilyPass and about their current loan policies.
