On February 15, 2019 YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association) will be holding a professional development workshop for public library staff in Albuquerque.
The topic will be Engaging Teens Through the Library.
Libraries play a key role in supporting teen success in college, careers, and life. They achieve this by understanding teen and community needs and developing services that specifically support those needs. In this highly participatory session participants learn how to build services for and with teens in the community with a focus on social emotional learning and college career readiness. Participants will also gain skills and knowledge in building community relationships in support of teens and in articulating the value of teen services to colleagues, decision makers, community members and organizations.
The workshop will be held 9-4 at the Juan Tabo branch of The Public Library of Albuquerque- Bernalillo County (with an hour for lunch).
