This position is primarily responsible for the configuration, administration, and supervision of the library’s integrated library system (ILS, currently OCLC Worldshare Management Services), leading the library’s technical services operations, and management of the library’s electronic resources. This position maintains the accuracy and integrity of bibliographic and authority records in the online catalog, performs original and copy cataloging, serves as a liaison to New Mexico networked library groups/consortia (e.g. LIBROS), and coordinates with the College’s Information Technology Center (ITC) to ensure access to electronic resources.

Essential Duties
*Serves as system administrator of library’s ILS, configures platform and catalog settings.
*Establishes policies and procedures for technical services operations. Provides oversight for all technical services (cataloging, processing, serials, interlibrary loan, electronic resources) performed by library staff – including related work completed at SJC West Campus library.
*Performs original and copy cataloging and maintenance of catalog records and holdings data. Supervises and works closely with Library Assistant III (Cataloger) to facilitate copy cataloging work, processing of materials, and maintenance of catalog records and holdings data.
*Manages and maintains the library’s electronic collections and resources, coordinates with vendors and the College’s ITC to ensure access to e-resources.
*Maintains statistics and prepares reports related to acquisitions, deletions, cataloging and processing of materials, database and electronic resources usage, etc.
*Performs library webpage(s) edits/updates, coordinates with the College’s ITC as needed.
*Provides onsite and virtual reference and technical services.
*Assists with collection(s) management and development, with a focus toward electronic resources (databases, online journal subscriptions, eBooks, etc.).
*Performs related duties as assigned by the Director of Library Services.
Qualifications
*Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited university.
*Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years’ experience or service.
*Minimum 1-2 years of cataloging experience and 1 year of experience in another technical services area (electronic resources management, serials, Interlibrary loan).
*Experience administering and configuring OCLC’s WorldShare Management Services or similar ILS.
*Experience coordinating with campus IT to update and maintain EZproxy service (or similar authentication platform) to ensure continuous access to electronic resources.
