Employment Opportunity: Senior Operations Manager, Zimmerman Library, UNM

The University of New Mexico, College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences is hiring a Senior Operations Manager.

Salary: $4293.47 to $6030.27 Monthly

The University of New Mexico, College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (UL&LS), has an opening for a full-time Senior Operations Manager based in Zimmerman Library. We seek a service-oriented individual with a proven ability to lead and manage in a collaborative environment. This position joins the Access Services team, a group whose areas of responsibility include access and help/information services; resource sharing and delivery services; stewardship of physical library collections, including those housed at our new high-density repository; and oversight for learning and creative spaces.

The Senior Operations Manager oversees frontline public services delivery and operations for Zimmerman Library. The position directly supervises and supports the Zimmerman Access Services staff team (currently 9.5 lines), including the Library Service Coordinators for Circulation and Student Employment. The position works closely with the Library Service Coordinator for Student Employment to provide our student workforce (appx. 55 individuals) with an enriched experience that helps students connect their jobs, their academic coursework, and their future plans. The position works to ensure welcoming, safe, and engaging spaces for learning and research within Zimmerman Library.

Within Access Services, the Senior Operations Manager convenes the Access Services Library Operations Managers group, serves as key contact for University Libraries contracted services with Securitas, leads or contributes to special projects, and coordinates the on-call staff pool. The position works closely with the Library Operations Manager for Resource Sharing and the Senior Operations Manager for Collections to ensure smooth delivery of shared service areas and appropriate stewardship of collections. The position serves on the Access Services Leadership team, forging positive relationships between and within groups focused on the development, delivery, and assessment of user-focused services. The position reports to the Director of Access Services & Undergraduate Engagement. Best consideration date is April 25, 2023.
