Position Summary | The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (UNM HSLIC) seeks applications from a highly motivated, innovative, collaborative and service-oriented professional to join our library faculty as our Scholarly Communications and Digital Librarian. This non-tenure track position will provide leadership to ensure the long-term preservation, processing, organization, and discovery of the born-digital and digitized archival content including content from HSLIC’s New Mexico Health Historical Collections, UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) local collections in the UNM Digital Repository, and the Native Health Databases. The Scholarly Communications and Digital Librarian will serve as the primary administrator for HSLIC in the UNM Digital Repository. This position will work closely with UNM HSC faculty, researchers, students and staff to assist in scholarly communication endeavors initiated by the library; and will liaise with campus partners on the development of initiatives that promote scholarly communication, open access, and develop open education strategies to further the campus mission in the areas of research, teaching, and public service. A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and public speaking experience with the ability to establish positive and productive collaborations with faculty, researchers, and students.
Appointment is posted as non-tenure track, open rank Lecturer, to be determined based on qualifications; Salary range: $ 50,000 – $ 55,000
Responsibilities:
Institutional Information: Located in Albuquerque, HSLIC serves the UNM School of Medicine, including its Health Professions programs; undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and College of Population Health; and two teaching hospitals. HSLIC serves the state’s health-information needs, including its 22 Native nations. The UNM HSC has earned a national and international reputation for its integrated education, patient care, research, and partnership initiatives which address the unique healthcare needs of New Mexico’s urban and rural populations (http://hsc.unm.edu). UNM is the flagship research intensive university with a student population of over 36,000.
