Employment Opportunity: Reader Advisor in Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped NM State Library

Purpose of Position:
This position will provide reader advisory support to over 2,500 blind, physically disabled and reading impaired citizens throughout the state along with institutions serving such citizens. The reader advisor processes audio book requests, Inter-library loan requests (ILL), recommends choices, and provides support with questions concerning playback devices, download of audio books, and other areas relevant to program services. This position is part-time.  This position is located at the New Mexico State Library.

Due to the available budget allocated for this position the hiring rate will not exceed the midpoint of $13.96 per hour.

This position is a Pay Band 45.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must climb ladders of heights up to 10 feet and possess the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Exempt. FLSA status may be determined to be different at the agency level based on the agency’s utilization of the position.

Bargaining Unit:
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
