Position Summary | The University of New Mexico, College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (UL&LS), has an opening for a full-time Library Operations Manager—Resource Sharing. We seek a service-oriented individual with a proven ability to manage effectively in a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will lead and manage all aspects of resource sharing, including interlibrary loan, document delivery for University Libraries collections, and scanning services. The Library Operations Manager directly supervises and supports the interlibrary loan staff team (currently 5.5 FTE), manages systems and services used to provide interlibrary loan and document delivery services, including OCLC’s ILLiad and Odyssey, Rapid ILL and Rapid R, BSCAN-ILL, IDS Project, and Occam’s Reader. The candidate monitors processes and workflows, working with members of the ILL team and other colleagues, to continually assess and improve services. The candidate builds and sustains positive working relationships with campus researchers, library colleagues, and external resource sharing partners. The candidate oversees fiscal activities related to ILL, preparing reports as needed. This position serves on the Access Services leadership team and contributes to the development, delivery, and assessment of user-focused services including reference/information assistance, circulation, reserves, study rooms, print/copy/scan, public/student computing, and collection maintenance. The position reports to the Director of Access Services & Undergraduate Engagement. The resource sharing team plays a vital role in supporting the teaching and research missions of the University of New Mexico (UNM) by processing over 60,000 requests in a typical year. UNM is a member of the Association of Research Libraries, the Greater Western Library Alliance, and the New Mexico Consortium of Academic Libraries. University Libraries on UNM’s Central Campus contains over 3 million volumes and includes four libraries: Centennial Science & Engineering Library, Fine Arts & Design Library, Parish Memorial Library (business and economics), and Zimmerman Library (humanities, social sciences, and education). Zimmerman Library also houses the Center for Southwest Research and Special Collections as well as the Indigenous Nations Library Program. A fifth facility, the South Campus Repository, is currently being renovated, and will serve as a long-term repository for library collections. Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
