Purpose of Position:
This position resides at Rural Bookmobile Northeast and is located in Cimarron, New Mexico. This position will deliver library services to rural and underserved communities in Northern New Mexico by driving a 35-foot Bookmobile to designated rural areas and provide a full range of library services including a circulating a collection of books, magazines, audio-visual materials, reference services, and Interlibrary Loans. This position will support all aspects of these services both on the Bookmobile and in the Cimarron Public Library and also provides support in the Summer Reading Program. This position is also responsible for maintaining the bookmobile/state car and will perform administrative duties under the direction of the Bookmobile manager. There are three Bookmobile trips per month that will result in overnight travel. Driving is shared with a co-worker.

Due to the available budget allocated for this position the hiring rate will not exceed $13.96 per hour.

This position is a Pay Band 45.

Employment Requirements:
Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a current and valid Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico as a condition of employment

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a bookmobile and a library office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage, sitting for extended periods of time, ability to lift up to 40lbs., standing, kneeling, stretching, and ability to climb stairs on and off the bus, usage of rolling carts, ladders, small postage scale, and drive the 35′ Bookmobile and 4-door sedan monthly.

Bargaining Unit:
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
