Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (UL&LS), has an opening for a full-time Library Services Coordinator, specializing in information and reference services. We seek an individual with excellent reference skills, a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a strong interest in the development, enhancement, and evaluation of information and reference services.

The successful candidate will provide support for information and reference services delivery across the University Libraries including Centennial Science & Engineering Library, the Fine Arts & Design Library, Parish Memorial Library and Zimmerman Library, as well as virtual services. The position will play an integral role in coordinating the development and assessment of services, working closely with staff across Access Services as well as Public Services. The successful candidate will lead the reference working group, and serve as a member of the Access Services Leadership Team. The position reports to the Director of Access Services & Undergraduate Engagement.

Additionally, this position will provide public services (information and reference assistance, access services) for UNM students, staff, faculty, and community users. Public Services staff may participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of services as well as contribute to the development of service standards. Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
    1. Demonstrated and successful experience providing information and reference services, including services delivered in person, by phone, email, chat, text and/or other technologies
    2. Demonstrated success in leading projects and coordinating work between different groups
    3. Experience with program or service activity evaluation
    4. Experience providing other access services, such as circulation and reserves
    5. Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    6. Demonstrated ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively, both as a team member and leader
