The City of Belen is accepting applications for:
POSITION OPENING: Library Director
Minimum Pay: $17.00 per hour (+ for Master’s Degree)
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school; and five years related experience and/or training required.

Grade II Librarian Certification from the State of New Mexico required.

(2) Two years supervisory and administrative experience required.

Prefer: Master’s degree (M.L.S.) from an ALA accredited graduate school. and the ability to obtain Professional Librarian Certification from State of New Mexico

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of modern library systems and programs
-
Considerable knowledge of equipment and facilities required in a comprehensive library system
-
Considerable knowledge of community needs and resources
-
Considerable knowledge of the Internet, telecommunications, computer networks, workplace software, and library automation applications
-
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and implement a comprehensive library system
-
Ability to read and analyze technical information, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
-
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with persons of all ages and every economic and social level
-
Working knowledge of the principles and practices of office management and work organization
-
Valid New Mexico driver’s license.

Able to successfully complete drug testing
-
Prefer bilingual (Spanish/English)

Able to formulate short and long range public services goals.
