Santa Fe Public Library is hiring a Librarian.
Position Description: Santa Fe Public Library is looking for a full-time librarian to act as both a floater to help cover public service desks at all three branches as well as program support. This is a full-time position with benefits. The hourly wage is $26.31/hr. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

Functions
-May be responsible for supervising staff and ensuring building security during evenings, weekends, and in the absence of library management, where appropriate.
-Contributes to a positive team environment, communicates effectively with peers, assists with training new personnel, and provides input to management on opportunities to enhance library programs, services, offerings, and operations.
-May participate in special projects and initiatives, including participation in relevant task forces, committees, etc.
-Remains up to date on emerging standards of practice and industry trends by engaging in meetings, webinars, list servs and regularly reading publications relevant to the library sciences; recommends to management opportunities to improve library offerings and operations.
-May be required to work on the reference desk, children’s desk or assist in other areas of the library as necessary.
-Answers reference questions using reference resources, the general collection, the internet, periodicals, online databases, and referrals to other library sections; assists and trains patrons in the use of the library and its resources, including searching databases and the internet; generates interlibrary loan and purchase requests; makes adjustments to equipment in public service areas as needed; assists patrons in the use of various computer software programs on public computers; assists patrons in the selection of material; schedules public access computers, reserves meeting and study rooms, monitors reservations to ensure compliance.
-Works with the Library Section Managers on outreach events and off-site library programs.
-Represents the library to the public, community partners, and other relevant constituents; coordinates with others to enhance offerings, deliver quality community programs, and/or resolve operational needs and issues.
Education Requirement
Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library Information Science (MLIS), or Master of Science (MIS) from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited college or university.
Experience Requirement
Three (3) years of progressive library or other relevant experience. Experience with Integrated Library Systems and OCLC platforms preferred.
Education and Experience Equivalency
One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
