Free Computer Training at NMSL
WHAT: New Mexico State Library is offering FREE computer training.
WHEN: SEPTEMBER 12, 13, 14 and SEPTEMBER 26, 27, 28
WHERE: New Mexico State Library, 1209 Camino Carlos Rey, Santa Fe, NM in the Electronic Classroom

WHO: The instructors are Sequoia Edwards and Judi Anderson, who most recently have taught class
with the FastForward New Mexico project.

Computer Basics
Learn the fundamentals of computer use and get hands-on experience with equipment and techniques. You will learn how to use a mouse, use basic applications, and how to save and retrieve files.
Using Word
This class is an introduction to word processing. Students will create two documents, a letter and a brochure, learning how to format text, how to place the text where you want it, and how to cut and paste. They will also learn an easy way to format columns and how to insert a picture.

Internet Know-How
What is the internet? What is a browser? How do I find what I need in Google? Learn the answers to these and other questions about the Web. Students will also receive an introduction to email letters and attachments.
Computer Security
So you have a computer now but how do you keep it safe? Learn how to use anti-virus software, how to update your computer and its programs, and how to keep your computer running fast.
